India’s space sector has made tremendous growth over the decade. Our advances in space programs have been highly remarkable, with vigorous and determined efforts of ISRO.

Additionally, the space sector in India has been undergoing a considerable transformation with the de-regulation and opening-up of Space sector for the private sectors. At present, India’s share in global space economy is around 2% today, however offers the great potential to increase Space
commerce for the new players.

The formation of Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (INSPACe) and efforts towards revising the space policies including the FDI policy for the space sector has another step which has taken by Government to spur the growth of private sectors, increase industry’s share in the Indian Space and global space market.

Taking the vision of the government of enhancing Indian private sector participation, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in association with the lndia Space Research Organization (ISRO), Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) and NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) is organising the 7th edition of its Bengaluru Space Expo 2022- an International Conference and Exhibition scheduled from 5 – 7 September 2022 at BIEC in Bengaluru.

The three-day event will comprise of exhibition and an international conference- ‘Nurturing the NewSpace in India’ would provide an ideal platform to Indian and International space agencies to interact, showcase their strength in the space arena and explore the opportunities of partnerships.

About IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry

IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry has a rich legacy of over a century of existence. It was founded on September 07, 1907 by few Indian Merchants, who came together to establish a Swadeshi institution to fight for the rights of the swadeshi businesses. The Chamber exclusively served the interests of Indian business community and also took part in several key political movement pre-independence. In recognition of the Chamber’s contribution to nation building, Mahatma Gandhi accepted honorary membership in 1931, the only Chamber which has this distinction. After independence, IMC has played a significant role in consolidating Indian business interests and making the Indian economy self-reliant. At its 100th year, a postal stamp was issued by the government of India recognizing the services of the Chamber.

    ERD Budget Series : Union Budget 2022 : An Indian perspecive and a way ahead

    Dr Soumya Kanti Ghosh is Group Chief Economic Advisor, State Bank of India. Dr Ghosh is a member of the Working Group that has been set up by Government of India for the revision of Wholesale Price Index. Dr. Ghosh has been a co-author in a pioneering work to capture payroll data in India for the first time and designing the PMKISAN scheme for farmers and the ECLG scheme for MSME borrowers that have been very successful during the times of pandemic. Dr Ghosh also had a role in designing the Credit Health Guarantee scheme that has been rolled out by RBI. Following his report, EPFO and ESIC has started to give out monthly payroll data He serves as a Chairman of the Indian Banks’ Association’s Economist Group. He is also a member of SEBI Advisory Committee on Research, Insolvency Board Committee on Research, Economic Advisory Council, CII and Editorial Advisory Board of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. For 4 successive years ending 2021, Dr.Ghosh has been ranked as one of the Best Individuals in Research in India by the Asset magazine.
